In short
Naples Capodichino Airport is closed from 1 to 30 November 2026 for runway resurfacing works. Many airlines (including easyJet, Vueling, Iberia, Transavia, Eurowings, Luxair, Neos and flydubai) have moved their flights to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport (code QSR). From Salerno you reach Naples in about 1 hour and Amalfi in about 1 hour, without traffic.

What to check if you fly in November
- The airport code on your booking. NAP is Naples, QSR is Salerno. Airlines may have moved your flight and changed its time and number too.
- Emails from your airline. Changes are communicated there: check your spam folder as well.
- Any transfer you have already booked. If you had a transfer from Capodichino, it needs to be moved to Salerno: times and price change.
From Salerno to your destination: times
| From Salerno Airport to… | Approximate time |
|---|---|
| Naples centre, port or station | about 1 h |
| Pompeii | about 45 min |
| Sorrento | about 1 h 20 |
| Amalfi · Ravello | about 1 h |
| Positano | about 1 h 30 |
Times without traffic. While Capodichino is closed, traffic around Salerno Airport may be heavier than usual.
Why a pre-booked transfer makes sense now
Salerno Airport is smaller than Capodichino and for a month it will handle most of Campania’s flights. Public transport links have been stepped up, but with many passengers at once waiting times may grow.
With a private transfer booked in advance you know who is waiting for you, where, and how much you will spend: I wait at Salerno arrivals with a sign showing your name and take you right to your hotel.
What if your flight stayed on Naples?
Some airlines have cancelled their November flights instead of moving them. If your flight has been cancelled, the airline must offer you an alternative or a refund: check the conditions in your account area.
