Maiori the longest beach on the Amalfi Coast
The longest beach on the Amalfi Coast, a castle on the hill and a collegiate church with a majolica dome: Maiori is the family favourite.

The Normans’ harbour
In the Middle Ages Maiori was one of the most populous towns of the Republic of Amalfi, with shipyards and salt pans. The castle of San Nicola de Thoro-Plano stands on the hill, and the Norman tower by the sea.
The collegiate church of Santa Maria a Mare, with its majolica dome, holds a statue of the Madonna that, according to tradition, arrived from the sea.

Reborn after 1954
In October 1954 a flood struck Maiori hard. The town was rebuilt with a wide, modern seafront, unlike the other villages on the coast.
After the war Roberto Rossellini chose Maiori to shoot several scenes of his films.
